Snugbug gel is completely safe when the safety guidelines are followed. Full safety instructions are supplied with all purchases. All our gel burners have been tested and designed for the purpose for which they are sold. Question: What is bio-ethanol fuel and gel?Answer:
Our bio-gel and bio-ethanol fuel is made from the fermentation of crops. This means it's safe to use indoors without having have to have chimney or flue. Question: Where is it safe to use the gel burners and bio-gelAnswer:
The gel burners are safe to use both indoors and outdoors. However it is not recommended that you place them on the floor indoors. They are ideal for tables, shelves and disused fire places. As with any flame please take care to always keep the product away from direct contact or close proximity to curtains, furniture, children and pets.
When using Snugbug outside, take the wind into consideration as bio-fuel is designed to burn in breezy conditions, which can distort the size of the flame Question: Where can I buy the gel?Answer:
The gel is available to buy from us on line in quantities of 6 or 12 and can be delivered directly to your address. Question: How do I light the gel?Answer:
Using an extended lighter or match, light the gel in the reservoir. You will see a light coloured low burning flame skim accross the gel. This will quickly turn to yellow. Allow the burner to cool before refilling it, and NEVER add gel while it's alight Question: How do I put out the flame?Answer:
All burners they come with either a snuffer (stainless steel lid) or ceramic top. When this is placed on top of the flame, it will be extinguished within seconds. Question: Can I change the size of the flame?Answer:
The reservvoir is what dictates the size of the flame. A smaller reservoir will result in a smaller flame and a larger reservoir will produce a bigger flame. Question: Does the burner get hot?Answer:
The outside of the reservoir and the bottom of the burner will feel warm to the touch, when the burner is in operation. It can be handled as soon as the flame has been extinguished. However the reservoir itself will be EXTREAMELY HOT and SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHED until it is completely cool. Allow several minutes for this Question: Will the flame make walls and ceilings black?Answer:
Bio-fuel is completely odour and smoke free, so will not result in any black marks.
